{"id":272,"date":"2011-05-04T11:34:00","date_gmt":"2011-05-04T11:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jhwlawoffice.com\/nevada-workers-comp-law-blog\/?p=272"},"modified":"2015-04-28T12:28:14","modified_gmt":"2015-04-28T12:28:14","slug":"will-you-need-retraining","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jhwlawoffice.com\/nevada-workers-comp-law-blog\/2011\/05\/articles\/benefits\/vocational-rehabilitation\/will-you-need-retraining\/","title":{"rendered":"Will You Need Retraining?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you are seriously hurt on the job, and think that you might not be able to return to your old occupation, you may need to be retrained to do a different&nbsp; kind of work.&nbsp;&nbsp;Under&nbsp; Nevada&nbsp;workers&#8217; compensation law,&nbsp;you may qualify for&nbsp;vocational rehabilitation&nbsp;services and benefits if your treating doctor gives you permanent work restrictions that prevent you from returning to your old line of work, and your employer does not offer a permanent light duty job. (&nbsp;Read more about permanent light duty job offers<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nevadaworkerscompensationlaw.com\/2010\/04\/articles\/claims-1\/light-duty\/more-about-light-duty-work\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>If you do qualify for retraining, the adjuster will assign you a vocational rehab counselor to work with you to find a suitable retraining program.
