While the cost of a Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) exam usually falls on the workers\u2019 compensation insurer, there are rare situations when the burden falls on an injured worker.<\/strong> Unfortunately, this burden just got a bit heavier for the injured workers to carry.<\/p>\n

Effective February 1, 2024, the cost of a PPD evaluation for 2 body parts rose from $911.26 to $950.04.<\/strong> Every year the Nevada Medical Fee Schedule changes in February. These changes dictate what doctors can charge the workers\u2019 compensation insurer for different services.\u00a0 A copy of the current Nevada Medical Fee Schedule can be found\u00a0here<\/a>. *Nevada Specific Code NV01001 may only be billed if an injured employee is more than 30 minutes late for a scheduled appointment or cancels the appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled
\nappointment.<\/p>\n

The medical records must be in a printable format and include a cover sheet indicating the number of pages provided to the physician or chiropractor.<\/p>\n

All medical records are to be provided to the evaluator in chronological order based on date of service.\u00a0 Separating chronologically organized therapy notes is acceptable.<\/p>\n

For the purpose of establishing the maximum allowable payment for the review of medical records and the evaluation of musculoskeletal body parts, the following constitute one body part:
\na) The cervical spine
\nb) The thoracic spine
\nc) The lumbar spine
\nd) The pelvis
\ne) The left upper extremity, excluding the left hand
\nf) The right upper extremity, excluding the right hand
\ng) The left hand, including that portion below the junction of the middle and lower thirds of the
\nleft forearm
\nh) The right hand, including that portion below the junction of the middle and lower third of the
\nright forearm
\ni) The left lower extremity
\nj) The right lower extremity
\nk) The head
\nl) The trunk
\nm) Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Impairments (NRS 616C.180)<\/p>\n
