Many of our clients are unable to afford medical treatment for their injuries because they do not have health insurance. If you are not receiving medical treatment and you do not have health insurance, be aware that Open Enrollment to participate in a health insurance plan through Marketplace Exchanges (the Affordable Care Act or \u201cObamacare\u201d) begins on Sunday, November 1, 2015. The following\u00a0 are important dates to keep in mind:<\/p>\n

*November 1, 2015: Open Enrollment starts. This is the first day you can sign up for health insurance coverage starting on January 1, 2016.<\/p>\n

*December 15, 2015: The last date to enroll for coverage that starts January 1, 2016.<\/p>\n

*December 31, 2015: Date when all 2015 Marketplace coverage ends, no matter when you enrolled.<\/p>\n

*January 31, 2016: Open Enrollment ends. This is the last day you can sign up for health insurance coverage, unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.<\/p>\n

If you do not sign up for health insurance during this time, you may not be able to sign up until next year. You may also be charged a penalty by the government if you do not have health insurance. Even if you think you cannot afford insurance, you should find out if there\u2019s are subsidies available to you to help you pay for coverage.<\/p>\n
