{"id":1367,"date":"2015-09-14T22:53:12","date_gmt":"2015-09-14T22:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jhwlawoffice.com\/nevada-workers-comp-law-blog\/?p=1367"},"modified":"2015-09-14T22:53:12","modified_gmt":"2015-09-14T22:53:12","slug":"shame-on-dir-lame-response-to-petition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jhwlawoffice.com\/nevada-workers-comp-law-blog\/2015\/09\/articles\/claims\/shame-on-dir-lame-response-to-petition\/","title":{"rendered":"Shame on DIR-Lame response to petition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wish I could say I&#8217;m surprised by the lame response by DIR (Division of Industrial Relations) to the <a href=\"https:\/\/jhwlawoffice.com\/nevada-workers-comp-law-blog\/2015\/08\/articles\/benefits\/permanent-partial-disability-awards\/lump-sum-ppd-awards-not-right-in-nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\">Petition I file d in July <\/a>for DIR to do its job and have an actuary review the discount rate used to convert permanent partial disability awards to present value lump sums.\u00a0 After you read <a href=\"https:\/\/jhwlawoffice.com\/nevada-workers-comp-law-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Reply-to-Petition-9.8.15.pdf\">DIR&#8217;s response, denying the petition<\/a>, you will note that the director of DIR fails to mention that the law requires DIR to have an actuary review the present value table every year.
